All Things Must Pass

So I've been wanting to post for awhile but I had some pictures from Thanksgiving that I wanted to put up and my computer's hard drive is totally full. I was waiting for Eric to clear it out for me (he bought a new computer to put all our media on: pics, music, all the junk that's filling up my computer) and he hasn't, so I'm posting anyways.

Last week was pretty great. Primus at the Fillmore was way better than I ever could've imagined it to be. I'd never seen them live, who knew what I was missing? I've seen Les Claypool's Frog Brigade a couple times and they're incredible but this was...The next night was Tenacious D at the Fillmore again and that was pretty much what I thought it would be. I did have high hopes though. There was a rock off with Satan. And their band consisted of JB and KG of course, along with Charlie Chaplin and the Antichrist. Funny stuff. Thanksgiving was the next day and Eric and I woke up late-ish (around 10) and started cooking. It was a really pleasant morning, we got in some good 80's films (Ghostbusters and Parenthood) before heading over to Jeff's around 3. We, of course, didn't eat until 7ish. There's always some last minute thing someone forgot at Thanksgiving, have you ever noticed that? Overall the meal was really good but I was disappointed with things. For instance, I guess Jeff and Liz are pretty anal and they cleaned up the meal right after we ate. Like, put everything away. I couldn't believe it, what about second Thanksgiving? Then I had to leave early (like 12:30) after winning Trivial Pursuit because I had to work the next morning.
Friday was an interesting day too. Turns out our friend James from Atlanta was in town b/c apparently his parents live in Parker, CO. So we drove out to BF Colorado and picked him up for an afternoon/evening/morning of fun. We dropped him back off around 3 that morning and guess what they have in Parker, CO? A fucking Waffle House!!! We ate there and it was delicious. Heather, Eric and I ended up staying at Case's place in Denver that night. Good times. The weekend following those events was also fun.
This weekend has been a-ok also. Last week it was around 70 degrees pretty much all week. This week we got a snow storm. I guess it wasn't exactly a storm, but I'm pretty sure we got around 5-6". I had my first scary driving-in-snow-and-ice experience. I need new tires. I did get a snow day yesterday so that was cool. I didn't knowthat happened here, but people get almost as freaked out here as they do in Atlanta. People don't run to the grocery stores and buy all the food here though.
I'm taking my first ski lesson tomorrow. I'm both anxious and excited about it. I'll let everyone know how it went.

Robert Altman died today. This makes me very sad.

ask and ye shall receive

It's been a good 11 days. Last weekend was a great balance, the kind of weekend I enjoy. Friday night we went out to Denver for a birthday bar get-together. It was cool, the bar is called Double Daughters and it looks like Tim Burton designed it. I met a dude who graduated from Georgia Tech and we reminisced about Atlanta. Saturday we all went bowling and then played poker (I won again, I need you here Baran, there's no challange). Then Sunday we went over to our friends Ryan and Miki's house and watched the show Freaks and Geeks all day. Ryan loves it and we'd never heard of it; it's pretty great.

Heather and I went to see The Who on Tuesday night at the Pepsi Center in Denver. I went because Heather said that's all she wanted for her birthday was for me to go with. I thought it'd be lame. Don't get me wrong, The Who is probably my favorite band from that era of music (besides the Beatles) and I love almost everything they've done. However, I like the Rolling Stones too and their concerts are apalling to me. It's all a bunch of bad showmanship with very little musical talent left in the show. I was afraid to go see The Who because I didn't want them to be ruined for me. However, it was an amazing show. They couldn't have done any more to exceed my expectations. Roger Daltry's looking about 30 years old and he's still built like a brick wall. He actually nailed that scream in "We Won't Get Fooled Again." NAILED IT! It was pretty incredible. The crowd was about what I expected. We were the youngest people in our section by a lot. Oh, speaking of our section, Heather and I got the worst seats available b/c tix were so expensive. We got there and they scanned our tickets and said we had to see customer service. So we went over there and they told us they're moving us up to the 12th row! We were directly left of the stage and in the 12th row, it was so cool. I could see facial expressions and everything. But back to the crowd, one particular instance will kinda set the scene for you. This old guy a few rows ahead of us was just rocking the hell out to "My Generation" (which was superbly done, I was so pleased). He was throwing fists in the air and dancing around and was so into it he started to get a little warm. So he took a break from rocking out and stripped his sweatshirt off...and promptly tied it around his waist.
Next week I'm going to see Primus on Tuesday night and then Tenacious D on Wednesday night. Then there's Thanksgiving. The plan is for us to get together at Jeff's. I was thinking it'd be a big group but now that I think about it, it'll probably only be around 5-6 people. It'll still be fun, Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays because I like to eat and we have at least 2 super good cooks (Eric and Jeff) cooking for the group. And then I only have to work 1/2 day on Friday. It was going to be from 9-6 but my boss changed his mind which made me really happy.
All caught up.

week

It's been a good week so far. Well, considering it's Sunday, we'll just say it was a good week. Work was normal...enough said there I suppose. Friday Heather and I got our hair done and that took a ridiculously long amount of time. We had the appointment at 12 b/c we had another appointment at 4. Seems like plenty of time for some highlights, right? Wrong. We didn't leave the hair place until around 4:20 and got to our other appointment at like 5:30 (we had to sit through Denver to Boulder traffic). We got new tattoos together for Heather's birthday. Everything you've ever heard about tattoos on the foot is completely true. It hurts like the dickens. Definitely the most painful thing that I can recall. It's a neat tattoo though. We are pleased.
Besides Friday being fun with Heather, I've had another of those boring/relaxing weekends. Eric and I have been going out every night for a couple weeks, which I of course LOVE, but I suppose it is exhausting. For instance, I fell asleep on the couch Saturday night at like 9:30. It's nice to spend time just Eric and me. He's a cool guy to hang out with. We've been playing MarioKart this morning and now he's helping me rewrite my Statement of Purpose. It's finally coming together.
We've finally spotted the elusive kittens. I KNEW she was pregnant. She's finally bringing them around and they play on our porch. There are only 2 of them (which I also predicted) and they're really cute. They're kind of striped like Spider is, but with short hair. And one of them is kinda orange. They fear us, but Banjo doesn't get upset when we come around them, which is a good sign.
I'm spent.
