All Things Must Pass

It's been a crazy few weeks. Eric's parents were in town the last week in August. We had a good time with them, it was a really nice inaugural visit. We took them out to Rocky Mountain National Park of course. It was nice.

The next weekend was Labor Day. We had a party and way too many people showed up. It was pretty fun but our house is kinda little and there were like 30 people there.

The next weekend was our downtime and I honestly can't even remember what we did....oh yeah, we saw Built to Spill again and then played poker the next night.

The weekend after that was Monolith. It was great. Eric's sister Kristen came out and we camped and went to the show both days and it was really a ton of fun. The campsite was one we'd never been to but I would go back there in a heartbeat. It was beautiful. Here are some pics of my favorite bands there.
This was Clap Your Hands Say Yeah. I love their shows so it's a given that this one was incredible. My only complaint is that they had them go on at 5:45 and they were on the main stage. I think they make a much better small stage act than a big stage like Red Rocks, but it was still a really good performance.

This is Brian Jonestown Massacre, who I love, love, love. I was very pleased to see that Joel was back with them, he wasn't playing with them last time I saw them.

This is Art Brut, who I'd never seen before (or even really heard their stuff) but I really liked them. They were a lot of fun in that quirky British way, I loved it.

Next is the Flaming Lips show. If you've never seen the Flaming Lips (as I never had) you would be blown away, let me just tell you. If you ever get a chance, you must see it. It's a spectacle.

This past weekend, our only big plan was to go to Elitch Gardens, Denver's Six Flags type thing. It's right in downtown Denver so it's really pretty small, about a third the size of Six Flags over Georgia. It was pretty fun, we went with Heather and her new boyfriend, who had never ridden a roller coaster before.

Now I work every day this week before heading out to LA on Friday to hang out with Jee, Justin, Baran and Robin. Then on Monday Jee and I head back into Colorado and Ted will shortly follow. I have all of next week off of work, so it should be pretty fun. I'll update eventually.
